Locating section breaks in Word online
Locating a section break in Word online can be done easily using one tool.
Under Home, you will find the show or hide option. This is a great tool for checking all additions to the document that are not obvious, such as the font and size of the text.
This includes the entries or spaces that are added to the text, the page breaks, or the sections that the page is divided into.
so to check section breaks, click on Home > Show/Hide
Deleting section break in word online
To delete a page section in Word Online, follow these steps
- Open the document that has section breaks or page breaks in it
- Check the page breaks by scrolling through the document. If the page breaks are not visible, click on home
- Home > Show/Hide to show section breaks
- Move your cursor just before the section break you want to delete and press the delete button on your keyboard. You can also delete it by using the backspace key.
Please note: When you delete a section break in Word, the text before and after the section will be combined. This new combined section will use the formatting from the section after the section break.
If you want the section to use the formatting before the section break, you can select Link to previous instead of removing the section break.

Case-2: On Mac OS
Before deleting a section break in your document, it is important to view the existing breaks. To do this, go to Home and select Show all nonprinting characters. This will give you a fair idea of all the page breaks in the document.
Select the section break you want to get rid of. The cursor will blink at the bottom of the break. Hot the delete key or backspace key to delete the break.
Remember: when a section break is deleted, Word combines the text from before and after the section. If you have different formatting, it will change to that of the section that follows. If you would like to retain the formatting, select Link to previous.

What is a section break in Word online?
When a page is divided using a page break, it breaks the page into different sections. This not only divides the text but also affects the formatting. Each section can be formatted differently.
Word Online doesn’t support section breaks even though it displays them. You can remove unwanted section breaks by opening the document on the desktop version.
On Android devices, page breaks can be added as new pages. By clicking the option, a new page is added to the document. You must go to the editing option > select insert > new page. Once a new page is created, it can be deleted easily by selecting it and tapping delete.
You can manually turn on the view if you cannot see the section break in your document. In most cases, while in print view, you cannot see printable characters. There is an easy fix to this.
Go to the Home section, under Home, and you will find the Show / Hide option. This option shows you characters that are not printed, like when you hit the enter key or when page breaks have been added.
To view the page breaks added to the document, click on the show/hide option, and you can simply scroll through the document and review all the breaks.
First, to remove a section break in Word, check where the break is. Once you have located the break, click on it or the line under the section break. Once the cursor is there, you can delete the section break by hitting the backspace key.
Like Android devices, inserting or removing section breaks on iOS devices is impossible. However, you can add blank pages to the document if you are editing it on the go, and you can delete these blank pages using the delete option.
